Silvia Grilli
Editor-in-chief Grazia Italy
Born in 1961 in Forlimpopoli, a town in the north-eastern province of Forlì-Cesena, Italy, Silvia Grilli graduated from the Ca’ Foscari University in Venice with a degree in American language and literature. After studying French history and civilization at the Sorbonne in Paris, she began her journalism career at daily newspapers La Notte, L’Indipendente, and Il Giornale, before moving to the weekly Epoca.
In 1998 she became news editor of Anna magazine, and, in 2000, the managing editor of the Italian edition of Cosmopolitan. She has contributed to Il Foglio and various international publications, including The Guardian, The New York Observer, and The New York Sun.
She became a special correspondent for Panorama in 2001, reporting from the United States, the Middle East and China.
In 2005 she became co-editor-in-chief of Grazia, ultimately taking over full responsibility for the publication’s editorial operations the following year.
In 2006, then-publisher Mondadori tasked her with modernizing the weekly magazine. Grilli’s intuitive understanding of the rise of digital communications led her to start a Grazia blog, the first of its kind in Italy, covering news, fashion and culture in a way that facilitated direct exchanges with readers.
In 2007, she left Grazia for New York, where she contributed to various Mondadori publications as editor-at-large, before returning to Italy as deputy editor of Panorama.
She has been at the helm of Grazia since December 2012. Under her leadership, the magazine took on new life with its focus on hard-hitting news as well as fashion. She spearheaded an initiative with Chiara Ferragni at the Triennale di Milano museum of art and design, showcasing the impact of influencers in the fashion industry. She was also the driving force behind Unfitting (inadeguata), the short film directed by Giovanna Mezzogiorno and presented at the Rome Film Festival criticizing societal prejudices about women’s bodies and age.

Andrea Tenerani
Editor-in-chief Icon Italy
After enrolling in public relations studies at the IULM University in Milan, Andrea Tenerani dropped out to begin working with the Flor Italian advertising agency – part of the BBDO group – which hired him full-time in 1988 and put him in charge of the Jean-Paul Gaultier collections. This was his first exposure to high-end photography and advertising campaigns, placing him in direct contact with major industry stars, including Steven Meisel.
His news industry debut came in 1996 when he left the agency and began working as an assistant to a Rizzoli fashion editor, subsequently contributing to Max and Mondo Uomo. During his tenure as fashion editor at Mondo Uomo he traveled frequently to Hollywood, working closely with leading names in the entertainment industry.
He returned to Max in another fashion editor position in 1996 before joining Condé Nast title GQ in 2001. He was the driving force behind GQ Style, a GQ spinoff focused on fashion and shopping that bowed in 2003. During that time, he also served as a fashion consultant to various international brands, including Zegna, for which he oversaw the advertising campaigns and runway shows. He stayed at GQ through 2010.
In 2011, Mondadori tapped him as creative and style director for the new publication Icon. In early 2016, he moved back to Condé Nast in a dual role: creative and style director at GQ, and fashion director of L’Uomo Vogue.
Since 2018 he has been the director of Icon.
